A swift response by firefighters from the Tamale Metro Fire Station prevented a major disaster at the Tamale Taxi Rank, after a raging fire broke out at dawn.

The fire, which was reported at 5:34 AM, destroyed seven container shops and their contents, but no injuries were recorded.

Rapid Firefighting Efforts
Led by Assistant Station Officer (AstnO) Abubakari, firefighters arrived at the scene within six minutes of receiving the distress call. By the time they arrived, the flames had already engulfed several shops, but through tactical intervention, they managed to:

Contain the fire by 5:50 AM

Completely extinguish it by 5:54 AM

Their timely response prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the market, saving countless shops and stalls from destruction.

Investigation Underway
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Market traders and residents have praised the firefighters for their quick action, which helped avert further losses.
