The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications and the Digital Chamber of Ghana have officially announced the departure of their Chief Executive Officer, Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey, who stepped down at the end of May 2025 after nearly eight years of dedicated service.

In a heartfelt joint statement, the two Chambers praised Dr. Ashigbey for his visionary leadership, describing his term as a period of significant transformation in Ghana’s telecommunications and digital finance sectors.

“Dr. Ashigbey’s contributions have not only elevated our industries but have inspired all of us across sectors. His tenure was marked by innovation, collaborative stakeholder engagement, and advocacy that helped shape Ghana’s digital landscape,” the statement read.

Under his leadership, the industry experienced advances in connectivity, mobile financial services, and regulatory frameworks, fostering growth and innovation that extended beyond the telecom sector to the broader national economy.

The Chambers confirmed that all correspondence regarding the CEO transition should now be directed to the Chairman of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, and noted that details on Dr. Ashigbey’s successor will be announced in due course.

“We remain steadfast in our mission to build on the strong foundation Dr. Ashigbey has laid,” the Chambers added. “We will continue to deepen our collaboration, push for innovation, and advocate for policies that drive inclusive growth across Ghana.”

Dr. Ashigbey’s next career move has not been disclosed, but he departs with widespread respect and best wishes from across the ICT and development community.
