"Many propagandas want Ghanaians to think the country is broke," Akufo-Addo said.

He added that his administration is giving John Mahama a gross international reserve of about $8 billion.

This information was revealed by President Akufo-Addo at his final State of the Nation speech to parliament today, January 3, 2024.

During his speech in parliament, President Akufo-Addo boldly stated, "Mr. Speaker, we are handing over the country with gross international reserves of almost 8 billion USD. The country is not broke, as some propaganda would have us believe."

He added that John Mahama had left him a gross international reserve of 6.2 billion dollars in 2017.

“This is more than the 6.2 billion USD of gross international reserves my administration inherited in 2017”, he detailed.
