Popular Ghanaian journalist and TV3 presenter, Johnnie Hughes, was robbed in the early hours of Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

Johnnie Hughes, who is known for hosting Johnnie’s Bite on TV3 and 3FM, revealed the unfortunate incident while speaking live on TV3.

According to him, the robbery happened around 3 a.m. while a security company was supposed to be on duty protecting him. He stated that his mobile phone was stolen by an unknown person, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the security service.

During his show, Hughes shared his frustration over the situation. He explained that he had checked his CCTV cameras and saw someone taking his phone while the security company was supposed to be working.

“My wife asked me this morning when I was waking up and coming to work because a very useless so-called security company says they want to provide security for me. I was looking through the CCTV cameras, and somebody took my phone around 3 a.m. A very useless security company, and they have to pay for it," he said.

Despite the loss, Hughes remained dedicated to his work. He said his service was to God and his country, not himself, which is why he was still able to report to work despite the incident.
