According to a Report from Adom Online, Musa Dankwa, Executive Director and Head of Research at Global InfoAnalytics, has become the center of attention following the accuracy of his controversial predictions for the 2024 Ghanaian general elections. His forecast, which anticipated a victory for former president John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a parliamentary majority for the opposition party, was initially met with skepticism and criticism.
The predictions made by Global InfoAnalytics months before the elections were widely criticized, especially by members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). Critics questioned the predictions' methodology and validity, with some rejecting them as unreliable and erroneous. Good Evening Ghana host and Ghana Airport Company Board Chairman Paul Adom Otchere was one of the most outspoken critics. During his show, Adom Otchere called the Global InfoAnalytics survey "shambolic" and urged the audience to ignore its results in favor of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP.
In spite of the criticism, early results from the Electoral Commission of Ghana showed that Dankwa's predictions were becoming more accurate. According to the most recent count, John Dramani Mahama is leading in the presidential race, and the NDC has secured a parliamentary majority, claiming several important seats traditionally held by the NPP. Although the official results have not yet been fully announced, the trends closely match what Global InfoAnalytics had predicted. Adom Otchere's dismissive remarks contributed to the growing wave of sk surrounding the predictions, with many political observers doubting the validity of Dankwa's approach.
Dankwa's sense of vindication was evident following the release of the preliminary results. He responded sharply to his detractors, especially Adom Otchere, by posting a video of the broadcaster's previous rejection of his work on his verified Facebook page with the caption, "Good morning Paul Adom Otchere of Good Evening Ghana." The post quickly went viral on social media, generating conversations among users who commended Dankwa for his resolute stance against criticism and many also used the opportunity to attack Adom Otchere, pointing out that his earlier rejection of the predictions had been premature.
