Ghanaian rap icon Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, recently attended the funeral rites of Mr. Abraham Kwame Lewis Sosu at the Dolphins Event Center in Tema Community 6. His presence at the ceremony underscores his deep-rooted connections to the Tema community and his commitment to honoring significant figures within it.

Sarkodie's association with Tema is well-documented. Born and raised in Community 9, Tema, he has consistently showcased his appreciation for his hometown. In 2019, he initiated the 'This is Tema' Festival, a celebration aimed at giving back to the community that played a pivotal role in his rise to stardom. The festival, held at the Chemu Park in Community Seven, featured electrifying performances from Sarkodie and other notable Ghanaian artists. The event was a testament to Tema's rich cultural heritage and musical legacy.

Beyond his musical endeavors, Sarkodie has demonstrated a commitment to social causes within Tema. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he, through his management team, distributed relief items such as hand sanitizers, water, and food to the aged, disabled, and needy residents of Tema. This act of kindness highlighted his dedication to supporting his community during challenging times.

His attendance at Mr. Sosu's funeral is consistent with his history of paying respects to significant individuals in the community. In 2015, Sarkodie was among the notable figures who attended the funeral of Mrs. Catherine Satekla, the mother of fellow musician Stonebwoy. His presence at such events underscores the solidarity and mutual respect among Ghanaian artists and their communities.

Sarkodie's involvement in community events and personal milestones of its members reflects his deep connection to Tema. His actions serve as a reminder of the importance of community engagement and the role public figures can play in uplifting and supporting their roots.
