The opening of Frontier Ghana’s new fuel station in Akyem Old Tafo in the Eastern Region has marked a significant step toward transforming the town into a thriving economic hub. Local leaders and business stakeholders are now calling for increased investment to leverage the momentum generated by the station, which has already created employment opportunities and positioned the community for broader development.

At the inauguration ceremony, Daasebere Adusei Peasah IV , Akyem Tafo Manhene, a respected figure in the region, emphasized the need for more investors to “step up and take part in the development of Akyem Old Tafo.” Speaking to the management of Frontier Oil, he declared, “I’m ever ready to assist any development,” underscoring the community’s openness to collaboration. His remarks were met with applause, reflecting shared optimism about the potential for the town to become a model of economic revitalization.

The event also featured Osuman Amidu, Marketer for Frontier Ghana, who assured residents and consumers of the company’s commitment to “quality products and affordability.” The new fuel station, he stated, is part of Frontier’s broader mission to serve local communities while maintaining competitive pricing and customer-focused services.

A key highlight of the station’s opening has been its impact on employment. The facility has created jobs for dozens of young people in Akyem Old Tafo and its environs, offering a lifeline to many. Local youth, both men and women, have been hired into roles ranging from operations and customer service to logistics, providing them with stable incomes and opportunities to support their families. “This has reduced unemployment in our community,” said a local resident, adding that the station’s presence is “a beacon of hope for our youth.”

The ripple effects of the station’s launch are already evident. Beyond direct employment, small businesses in the area report increased activity, from food vendors catering to customers at the station to transport operators servicing its operations.

Community leaders believe the investment will attract further industrial and commercial ventures, creating a domino effect that could elevate Akyem Old Tafo’s status as a center.

Daasebere Adusei Peasah IV reiterated this point, urging investors to follow Frontier Ghana’s example. “We have the resources, the labor, and the will to grow,” he said. “All we need is the confidence to back it.”

As Frontier Ghana’s fuel station celebrates its first month of operations, the focus now turns to sustaining this momentum. For Akyem Old Tafo, the launch represents more than just a new business—it symbolizes the dawn of a new era where community-driven development and private-sector investment work hand in hand. With the right partnerships, the town’s aspirations of becoming a vibrant economic corridor may soon become a reality.
