Evans Eshun, also known as Ebo Noah, the man whose apocalyptic prophecies caused widespread fear and concern throughout the nation, has been taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service. According to police sources, Ebo Noah was arrested on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, after a string of contentious events connected to his unfulfilled apocalyptic prophecy on Christmas Day and his subsequent public appearance at a significant music event.Following reports that hundreds of individuals, some from neighboring countries, had left their homes to congregate at his so-called "ark site," carrying supplies and luggage, authorities were increasingly alarmed. Security services cautioned that there were possible hazards to public safety and humanitarian aid.
In August 2025, Ebo Noah initially attracted national and worldwide notice when he claimed to have received heavenly instructions to build 10 contemporary arks in order to preserve humanity from a three-year global flood.Drawing comparisons to the biblical account of Noah, he claimed that the rains would start on December 25, 2025. Videos of the 30-year-old supervising the building of wooden vessels while wearing sackcloth were posted on his YouTube and TikTok accounts for months. He regarded the arks as the only safe place for Christians and asserted that he had amassed over 250,000 pieces of timber. Ebo Noah, however, said in a widely shared video that his prayers and a three-week fast had persuaded God to delay the devastation after Christmas Day went off without a hitch.
When he emerged on stage at Sarkodie's Rapperholic 2025 performance wearing his signature robes and urged people to celebrate because the calamity had been postponed, public indignation grew. Social media users reacted strongly to the appearance, accusing him of misleading the public and demanding his arrest. Prior to all night services by several Christian groups on December 31, 2025, the Ghana Police Service issued a warning that any religious leader whose statements cause tension or fear in the public will face legal repercussions. The GPS has yet to evaluate the many prophecies and determine which ones deviated from the prescribed instructions. The renowned "Ebo Noah" is still being held by the Ghana Police Service in the meantime.
