A mechanic was working on a VIP bus when it slipped and crushed him, resulting in his death in a terrible tragedy at the Takoradi Apollo Traffic area early today.

According to sources, the event occurred when the mechanic was fixing the bus's air system.


He is said to have placed his head close to the wheel area during the repair when there was an unexpected explosion, which caused the bus to slip and collapse on him.

The mechanic was instantaneously killed by the impact.

To ascertain the precise cause of the collision, police have attended the area and initiated an investigation. The body has been placed in a mortuary while additional processing takes place.

Concerns regarding safety procedures at roadside mechanical workshops, especially while working on heavy-duty cars, have once again been brought up by the event.
