Following Ghana's Tuesday loss to Sudan, details of the confrontation between Jordan Ayew and Lawrence Ati Zigi have surfaced. It is said that the players took their argument into the changing room.
After the Black Stars were on the verge of missing out on qualifying for the AFCON for the first time in twenty years, tensions erupted between the previously stated pair.
After the Black Stars' humiliating 2-0 loss to Sudan in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, Ayew and Ati Zigi had to be separated by their teammates.
The two players were shown engaging in a heated argument in a video that quickly went popular on social media.
Although the exact reason for the chaos is unknown, Joy Sports writer Muftawu revealed that tensions among the players in the locker room escalated.
The GJA Sports Journalist of the Year said on Hitz FM that he had heard from sources that the players had even swung strikes with one another.
He clarified the source of the misconception by stating that Ayew had previously expressed dissatisfaction with Ghana's strategy against Sudan and preferred the squad to play fast and direct rather than concentrate on playing beautiful football.

"A brawl started. Actually, it began on the field and moved into the locker room. Jordan Ayew played a major role in that altercation. I was given to understand that one of the things Jordan had said before the game was that we should win matches and that we should quit attempting to play beautiful football, Muftawu remarked.
"Frustration and emotions overcame them after the game, resulting in numerous altercations on the field that later spilled over into the dressing room."
"People used foul language on each other," he continued. I've been informed that folks have truly thrown hands. It was so awful, but people's ire was subsided. Nearly all of the boys were participating at one point, and it was between Jordan and Ati Zigi. It was a very large fight. But Jordan really voiced his dissatisfaction in the dressing room.
With only two points from four games, the Black Stars are still without a win in their AFCON qualifying group, trailing both Sudan and Angola by five and ten points, respectively.
