Columbus Irosanga, a veteran actor best known for playing "Igbudu" in the iconic 2001 movie Isakaba, has away, and the Nigerian entertainment world is in sorrow. Actress Hilda Dokubo announced his death, calling him a cultural icon and an indispensable Nollywood character. In addition to being an actor, Irosanga was a renowned scholar who earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from the University of Port Harcourt, where he was a senior lecturer in the Theatre Arts Department. After a brief illness, he reportedly passed away on February 6, 2025, which prompted a flood of tributes from colleagues and fans.
His simultaneous contributions to film and education have been widely acknowledged, with many emphasizing his role as a mentor for up-and-coming performers.
