Kennedy Former Assin Central MP and 2024 NPP presidential candidate Ohene Agyapong acted quickly on Sunday after witnessing a deadly hit-and-run in Assin Nsuta. His convoy was traveling from Assin Fosu to Accra when they came upon a horrible scene: a motorcycle that was on fire and its rider had perished. After investigation, it was discovered that the two involved articulated trucks were heading from Assin Fosu to Cape Coast. One, registered AS-9475-29, tried to pass the other and struck the approaching motorcycle head-on, instantly killing the rider. The dead person was allegedly run over by the second truck with a registration number, leaving it unidentifiable.
Given the gravity of the situation, Hon. Agyapong gave the order for his convoy to follow the first truck's fugitive driver. The subject was successfully captured and turned over to the Assin Manso Police Command for additional examination. Agyapong gave the public his word that he would see to it that justice was done in this case.
