Akosua Mensah marched her husband, Kofi Mensah, to the police station in Madina Constituency on Sunday after he was accused of ignoring his household financial responsibilities. It was a dramatic scene.

Evidently irritated, Akosua said that Kofi had been neglecting the household for months, allowing her to support their three children on her own. "I’ve been struggling alone to feed our children while he spends his salary elsewhere," she told the police.

However, Kofi refuted the charges, saying he provided for other family necessities. "Everyone is having a difficult time. He claimed to do his best, but Akosua was not satisfied and insisted that he had handled his money carelessly.
Under the direction of Inspector Osei, the police resolved the dispute and counseled the couple on the value of candid financial communication. "Marriage is a collaboration. Inspector Osei clarified that both parties must be open and honest.

Following a protracted debate, Kofi acknowledged that he had accumulated debt without telling Akosua, which had put a strain on his finances. "I didn’t want to worry her, but I see now that keeping quiet made things worse," he admitted.
Even though Akosua was unhappy, they decided to work together to find a solution. "Talk to me the next time. Together, we are in this," she remarked. The police advised the couple to think about seeking professional treatment for any lingering problems, and they left the station with a newfound resolve to collaborate.
