According to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), thugs acting on orders from Baba Jamal, one of the candidates in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary in the Ayawaso East Constituency, attacked an OSP officer who was conducting real-time investigations into alleged acts of vote-buying and selling in the constituency yesterday, February 7, 2026. The OSP also said that it was looking into claims of vote-buying and vote-selling in the Ayawaso East Constituency and the recently concluded New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries in a public notice issued today [February 8, 2026]. Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, one of the candidates, participated in the NDC parliamentary primaries held in the Ayawaso East Constituency on February 7, 2026.
