The young man was addressed about his behavior by locals, including elders, in the video, which depicts heightened emotions. A youth leader in the video said that the suspect was a buddy of his own, looking clearly unhappy.

The youth leader was heard in the video stating, "The law of the community applies to everyone, even though he is my friend."The video also depicts other older men at the scene slapping the suspect in a fit of rage, denouncing his claimed conduct, particularly in light of the suspected theft's religious location. Online responses to the incident have been conflicting. While some social media users condemned the theft in a place of worship, others voiced concerns about the application of mob justice and demanded that suspects be turned over to the police for appropriate legal action.
