Another downpour has left homes inundated, properties ruined, and inhabitants fleeing for their lives in parts of the capital, further exacerbating Accra's flood disaster.Residents of Kokroko, a village in the Weija-Gbawe Municipality, claim that unregulated development and inadequate drainage infrastructure have made every significant downpour a recurrent catastrophe. In addition to flooding homes, Friday's intense rains caused devastation in other impacted villages, such as Kokroko, where floodwaters ruined electronic appliances and fence walls crumbled.Among the most severely damaged was one local apartment building. In an effort to drain the collected water, inhabitants of the flooded flat were observed excavating holes beneath their rooms when a 3news reporter visited the area on May 25 to gauge how people were handling the aftermath. But another downpour started before they could recuperate from Friday's devastation.
