Ghanaian artist King Paluta has responded to the controversy surrounding his London show, arguing that the criticism is not just a disagreement over his stage behavior but rather a deliberate attempt to harm his name.
In an interview with Zionfelix, the rapper questioned the reasons for the accusations made against him. "Those who know me wonder why these accusations are being made, and that alone should indicate that this is a concerning situation," he said.
When King Paluta stopped performing at the All White Boat Party in London to yell at a female guest who didn't seem to be impressed by his performance, the controversy broke out. According to reports, the visitor did not enjoy his performance and even motioned for the artist to exit the stage.
King Paluta was heard stating, "I'm here because of my fans," in a widely shared video. She is unable to maintain that expression on her face. I don't care about you either if you don't care about me. Your unsightly wig.
The performer said that a woman who started verbally abusing him during his performance repeatedly provoked him, and that he did not start the altercation.
According to King Paluta, the criticism has its origins in the previous election time and goes beyond the London episode. He claims that persistent attacks were made possible by allegations that he had embezzled money from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during campaign operations. He clarified, "They say I took money from Bawumia during my campaign, and that set off a wave of controversy meant to damage my reputation."
The musician defended his political performances by claiming that it is common for performers to do such things. A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would probably go if they were invited. Paluta stated, "It's all about supporting events, and I've performed for both parties at different occasions."
He talked about what he perceives as a deliberate attempt to paint him in an unfavorable light on the internet. "I've seen individuals utilizing my photo on TikTok with a depressing song, explaining how one should maintain humility even after being raised by God. "This seems planned," he said.
During the interview, Paluta alluded to the possibility of an apology, but he did not outline the circumstances. He noted that some people have turned against him and voiced frustration at the speed at which stories about the incident have developed.
The artist acknowledged that the experience has been emotionally taxing. He added that coworkers have contacted him to inquire about the situation because they are familiar with his personality. "They constantly look for reasons to criticize and undermine me," he said. "Going through all of this is confusing and painful."
He was widely criticized over the incident, with many calling for an apology and characterizing his actions as unprofessional. The outrage was exacerbated when the musician answered with a song that many believed to be a trash song.
