On Thursday, December 11, 2025, in Ghana, Abu Trica—real name Frederick Kumi, also known as Emmanuel Kojo Baah Obeng—was taken into custody in a combined operation by the FBI and Ghanaian security forces.

He faces up to 20 years in prison on accusations of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering conspiracy, and a forfeiture provision, according to an unsealed US Justice Department indictment.
