A second-year student who died after falling from a hostel is remembered at KNUST.

Following the untimely death of Mr. Ransford Amankwah Asomani, a second-year student, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has entered a state of mourning. According to reports, early on Sunday, February 8, 2026, Mr. Asomani, who was enrolled in a BSc program in Agribusiness Management, fell from the second story of an off-campus hostel in Ayeduase. With assistance from the KNUST District Police Patrol Team, colleagues hurried the student to the KNUST Hospital, according to a statement released by university administration on Monday, February 9. Nevertheless, he was declared dead upon arrival, despite attempts to save his life.
