A father has been detained by the Akwatia Police Command for reportedly attempting to sell his son for GH¢1 million. Coffie Agyemang is the young father who was arrested on suspicion of trying to sell his three-year-old son. On January 13, 2026, Prime Rakon posted a widely shared video on X that showed Coffie Agyemang being taken to the police station in handcuffs after his arrest. In the footage, his three-year-old son was also seen strolling alongside a police officer.Coffie Agyemang, a Kwamang resident, was detained by the police after reportedly trying to sell his son for GH¢1 million, according to Akwatia TV's narration of the footage.
Akwatia TV claims that Coffie Agyemang, the suspect, had talked to a friend about selling his son, citing financial difficulties as justification.The narrator went on to say that after learning of the suspect's plans, the police pretended to be a buyer. Additionally, Coffie Agyemang allegedly consented to accept GH¢1 million from the buyer prior to selling his three-year-old son during talks with the police. He also arranged for anyone purchasing the boy to chop his body as needed if they wanted to kill him, after which the remaining mortal remains would be given to him for burial. Coffie Agyemang, the suspect, is presently being held by the police and supporting the Akwatia Police Command's investigation.
