In a display of clinical efficiency, Tanzania secured a commanding 8-wicket victory over Malawi during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier B. The match, hosted by the Ghana Cricket Association, saw Tanzania dominate both with the ball and the bat to chase down a modest target with ease.
Clinical Bowling Restricts Malawi.
After winning the toss and electing to field, the Tanzanian bowling unit immediately put Malawi on the back foot. The Malawian batting lineup struggled to find momentum, hampered by consistent breakthroughs and disciplined line and length.
Malawi managed to post a total of 77/9 in 19.1 overs. While they managed to survive nearly their full quota of overs, the lack of boundaries and the pressure exerted by the Tanzanian spinners and pacers kept the run rate well below four per over.
Effortless Chase for Tanzania.
The Tanzanian openers walked out with a clear intent to finish the game early. Despite Malawi’s best efforts to defend a small total, Tanzania reached the target of 78 runs in just 13.2 overs, losing only two wickets in the process.

The victory was a testament to Tanzania’s balanced squad, as they showed no signs of pressure during the chase, cruising to the finish line with 40 balls to spare.
