Accra, Ghana, 9 October 2026. Ghana Skate is delighted to announce that Harmonie Bataka, a skateboarding coach and judge with the federation, is on her way to Paraguay for the World Skate Level 2 Judging Course.
It was a last-minute trip. Until this afternoon, Harmonie's participation was uncertain, but a flight was finally secured and her is now on her way.
Skateboarding has been an Olympic sport since Tokyo 2020, and as Ghana works towards Olympic participation, having internationally certified judges and coaches matters more than ever. The Level 2 course will sharpen Harmonie's understanding of scoring criteria, competition rules and fair judging, and prepare her to officiate at international standards.
"Developing qualified judges is central to the growth of skating in Ghana, and even more so as we prepare for the Olympic stage," said Johnson Kwaku Gameli Kportufe, President of Ghana Skate. "Every judge we train strengthens the credibility of our competitions, including the upcoming National Championship, and puts Ghana on the map. We wish Harmonie a safe journey and every success."
When she returns, Harmonie will share what she has learned with the federation's officials and help train new judges and coaches across the regions.
Ghana Skate remains committed to building a strong pool of certified officials and raising the standard of skating in Ghana.
Ghana Skate is the national governing body for all sports on skating wheels in Ghana and is affiliated with World Skate.
