The second day of the CAF African Schools Football Championship – Ghana 2025 exploded with excitement, flair, and fierce competition as Africa’s brightest young talents continued to dazzle at the University of Ghana Stadium Complex. From epic goals to defensive masterclasses, Day 2 was a celebration of skill, unity, and unshakable ambition.
Girls’ Division: Heavyweights Dominate as the Stakes Rise
In Group A, host nation Ghana continued their dominant march with a silky 2-0 win over Benin and a ruthless 3-0 rout of Malawi. The Ghanaian girls played with confidence, cohesion, and flair — and they clearly have their eyes on the crown.
Morocco is proving to be just as formidable, collecting two 1-0 wins over Malawi and Benin, with their defense as tight as a drum. The stage is now set for a fiery face-off between Ghana and Morocco — one that could decide the group’s fate.
Group B was all about power and precision. South Africa went into beast mode with an 8-0 thrashing of DR Congo and a 5-0 dismantling of The Gambia. But Uganda refused to be outshone, sealing two back-to-back 3-0 victories. Both teams are unbeaten, unshaken, and undeniably unstoppable — for now.

Boys’ Division: Ghana, Uganda, and Senegal Take Control

Ghana’s boys gave the home crowd plenty to cheer for, with a narrow 1-0 win over South Africa followed by a confident 3-0 triumph over Algeria. Their gameplay was sleek, smart, and spirited.

But Uganda stole the spotlight with back-to-back 4-0 demolitions of Algeria and South Africa, establishing themselves as the team to beat in Group A. Ruthless in attack and rock-solid in defense, Uganda’s momentum is undeniable.

Meanwhile, Group B action brought its own drama. Tanzania and Côte d’Ivoire battled to a tense 0-0 draw in the opener, both showing promise but lacking the killer instinct.

Then came Senegal, charging into the spotlight with a statement 3-0 win over DR Congo, showcasing clinical finishing and creative buildup play. But their second game, a 0-0 draw with Côte d’Ivoire, left the group wide open.
Tanzania bounced back in their second match, edging past DR Congo 1-0 in a gritty performance led by their captain’s brilliant set-piece goal. DR Congo, now on the brink of elimination, will need a miracle to stay in contention.
A Tournament of Dreams in Motion
Across both divisions, the CAF African Schools Football Championship is delivering everything fans hoped for — and more. With free entry, packed stands, and schoolchildren chanting from the bleachers, this is more than a tournament — it’s a movement.
From Accra to the continent, the message is loud and clear: Africa’s football future is bright, bold, and brimming with potential.
As the semi-final picture starts to take shape, expect more twists, more passion, and more unforgettable moments in the days ahead.
