The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), in partnership with several national security institutions, will on Thursday, 11th December 2025, conduct a large-scale Show of Force Exercise across major streets of Accra.
The activity, announced in a statement issued by the Department of Public Relations of the GAF, forms part of ongoing joint security preparations aimed at boosting readiness ahead of the festive season.
According to the release, the exercise is being carried out in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, and the Ghana Immigration Service.
The coordinated operation will commence at 9:00 a.m. from the Black Star Square, proceed through key routes in the capital, and eventually return to the starting point.
The Ghana Armed Forces explained that the Show of Force is intended to enhance operational preparedness, deter criminal activity, and reassure the public of the nation’s security posture—especially as Christmas approaches. The exercise also aims to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and promote a unified national response to threats.
While the public may experience temporary traffic slowdowns and an increased presence of security personnel within Accra and its environs, the GAF encouraged residents to go about their normal daily activities without concern.
The statement was signed by Colonel Evelyn Ntiamoah Asamoah, on behalf of the Director General of Public Relations, and copied to all media houses.
