Dr Anatu Mahama champions women's empowerment

The Academic Women Foundation, in collaboration with MTN Ghana, on September 10, 2025, convened the impactful "She Builds Conference" in Accra, with a resolute focus on propelling women's empowerment and leadership in Ghana.

Themed "From Margin to Center: Redefining Power," this gathering of distinguished policymakers, academics, entrepreneurs, and civil society leaders underscored the imperative of revolutionizing women's roles in decision-making, innovation, and nation-building.

In her address, Dr Anatu Mahama, the visionary founder of the Academic Women Foundation, extolled the conference as profoundly inspiring, highlighting its role in reaffirming the collective conviction in women's potential to catalyze enduring change across society.

She stressed the paramount importance of genuine mentorship in nurturing young women leaders.

"We need female mentors who are honest and actively support the next generation. It inspires hope and proves that women can achieve great things with the right mindset and dedication to excellence," Dr. Mahama emphasized.

Dr Mahama's words of wisdom served as a clarion call to young women, urging them to cultivate a positive mindset, hone crucial skills, and strive for excellence in their careers.
