Six Aggrey Memorial Senior High School students have been taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service on suspicion of assaulting a final-year Adisadel College student in Cape Coast, Central Region.
According to the police, Rexford Owusu-Ansah, the victim, was attacked at Pedu Junction while he and two pals were making their way back to university. Before starting the attack, the suspects allegedly stopped the students to make sure they were from Adisadel College.
The guy was allegedly pummeled, kicked to the ground, and overpowered, but his two pals were able to flee. According to reports, the attackers also took his shoes, GH¢1,400 in cash, and his iPhone 17 Pro Max. At around 7:30 p.m. that same day, Aggrey Memorial SHS officials turned over the six young suspects to the Kotokuraba Police Station.
Before being sent to the Cape Coast Regional Hospital, the victim received first care at the stadium clinic. On Sunday, February 22, 2026, he was released. The student was unable to open his right eye due to a shattered bone around it, according to a police medical report that was approved by a physician.
