A 44-year-old man named Kweku Charles has been arrested for burying his 80-year-old wife, Sofomaame Esther Bolu, commonly known as "Nigeria Woman," in their bedroom for more than two weeks, shocking the residents of Twifo Nuamakrom in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region. Miracles Prayer Center's founder and leader, Esther Bolu, was apparently ill, and her husband took over the church's operations.
Without telling anyone in the neighborhood, Charles buried her in their house after she passed away. When neighbors and neighborhood people realized that Esther had not been seen for almost two weeks, the matter became public.
Charles stated that she had been transported to Accra for medical care when questioned. However, contradictions in his story sparked suspicion, necessitating more investigation. Residents found the old woman's body buried in their bedroom when Charles tried to escape during a subsequent altercation.
The Twifo Praso Police were notified of the situation by community elders, and Charles was immediately taken into custody.Environmental officers have been asked to exhume the remains as police continue inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the burial.
