RMG Company Ltd has publicly distanced itself from a publication by investigative journalism outlet The Fourth Estate concerning its former operations at the Apinto mining concession, insisting it neither authorised nor endorsed the report and rejecting attempts to associate the company with its political claims.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the mining company said the allegations, assertions and conclusions contained in the publication were solely those of the publisher and did not reflect RMG's position.

"The views, allegations, assertions and conclusions contained in that publication are entirely those of the publisher and should not, under any circumstances, be construed as representing the position of RMG Company Ltd," the company stated.

RMG further rejected what it described as a "litany of complaints, allegations and political assertions" contained in the publication, including suggestions that the Government of Ghana or its officials supported or facilitated the takeover of the company's mining operations.

According to the company, it has no association with such claims and does not wish to be drawn into partisan political debate.

The statement stressed that RMG has maintained a professional and constructive relationship with the Government of Ghana and state institutions, arguing that the mining sector can only thrive through collaboration, mutual respect and adherence to the country's legal and regulatory framework.

The company also expressed appreciation to the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources as well as the leadership and technical staff of the Minerals Commission for what it described as their guidance and continued engagement.

RMG said the support from the sector ministry and regulator had been instrumental in helping the company restructure its operations and lay the foundation for the restoration of its mining activities.

Looking ahead, the company reaffirmed its commitment to Ghana, disclosing that it is actively working towards the full restoration of its operations.

It said the revival of its mining activities is expected to create sustainable employment opportunities for more than 5,000 young Ghanaians while ensuring full compliance with environmental standards and all applicable mining regulations.

RMG also appealed to the media, stakeholders and the general public not to attribute any political position or commentary arising from The Fourth Estate publication to the company.

The statement concluded by reaffirming RMG's commitment to maintaining strong working relationships with the Government of Ghana, regulators, traditional authorities, host communities and business partners, while contributing to the country's economic growth through lawful mining operations.
