On Friday, 22 August, 2025, a special edition of Adwinsa’s annual Children’s Show dubbed “Read to Save the Environment” has been dedicated to honour the memories of the eight gallant compatriots of Ghana who fell at the feet of death on 6 August, 2025 in line of national duty in the waged war against illegal mining in Ghana, popularly called Galamsey.

Scheduled to happen from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the National Theatre of Ghana (Exhibition Hall) as part the 2025 edition of Ghana International Book Fair, the event is planned to host personalities from the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology; Environmental Protection Agency; UNESCO Ghana, Ghana Film Authority; Ghana Commission for UNESCO and the secretariat of the Parliament of Ghana to read “Abebrese” (Shadows of Wealth) published by Adwinsa Publications Ghana Limited and lead a conversation about the theme of the book—towards advocating against Galamsey.

The event jointly produced by Adwinsa Publications Ghana Limited and the Creative Arts Agency is a special session of the 2025 edition of Ghana International Book Fair expected to hosts about 200 participants and shall also feature segments as poetry performance skit and choreography presentations.

Participation is entirely free.
