The campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has issued a formal disclaimer over what it describes as a “fabricated statement” being circulated on social media and falsely attributed to the Assin Central MP.

In an official notice released on Thursday, the team said the publication in question is “not the author of the said publication,” stressing that the content is “false, misleading, and deliberately crafted to deceive delegates and injure his reputation.”

According to the statement, the circulation of such misinformation constitutes “malicious misrepresentation” and undermines the standards of fair internal political engagement.

“This conduct violates the basic standards of fair political competition within the Party,” the team noted.

The campaign emphasised that Hon. Agyapong remains focused on a clean and issues-based campaign as the party intensifies preparations for the upcoming presidential primaries.

“Hon. Agyapong remains committed to a clean, lawful, and issues-based campaign,” the notice reiterated.

Team Ken urged delegates and the general public to ignore the circulating message entirely, describing it as a calculated attempt to mislead stakeholders and sow discord.

“Delegates and the general public are advised to disregard the false statement entirely,” the disclaimer added, attaching an image of the official communication for verification.

The team further encouraged supporters to rely solely on verified campaign communication channels as the race tightens.
