Domestic airliner, PassionAir has announced the commencement of evening flight operations in response to the recent extension of operational hours at Tamale and Prempeh I International Airports.

Beginning 20th June 2025, PassionAir will operate an evening service departing Accra at 19:10 hours and arriving in Tamale at 20:30 hours. The return leg departs Tamale at 21:00 hours and lands in Accra at 22:30 hours.

This follows the announcement by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) regarding extended operating hours at Tamale International Airport (TIA) and Prempeh I International Airport (PIA), effective 1st June 2025.

Under the new schedule, TIA will operate until 10:00pm daily, while PIA will remain open until 11:00pm.

The strategic move aims to enhance domestic connectivity, particularly for passengers arriving from the United Kingdom, Europe, and other international destinations via Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra.

Travellers can now connect to Kumasi and Tamale on same-day flights after 8:00pm, eliminating the need for overnight layovers in Accra, Kumasi, or Tamale.

The initiative is expected to promote seamless domestic travel and supports the government's broader economic revitalisation efforts under the “24-Hour Economy” policy. It also aligns with the “Reset Agenda,” which seeks to stimulate economic activity and improve livelihoods across the country.
