The Ho Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has destroyed a large quantity of seized goods, including 680 cartons of Vody Vodka energy mix, which were imported illegally. The goods were seized from a trader at Asikumah, and their destruction was carried out by a team from the Ho Municipal Environmental Office, with officials from the Food and Drugs Authority and the National Investigation Bureau in attendance.
According to Mr. Ernest Annan-Prah, the Sector Commander, the products were seized because the owner had no legal authority to import them. In fact, only one person in the entire country has the right to import such items. The Commander urged individuals to follow the law and refrain from engaging in illegal activities. He also commended the officers for their vigilance and called for more cooperation from the public.
This isn't the first time the Ho Customs Division has destroyed seized goods. In a separate incident, they destroyed 274 bags of expired goods and marijuana worth GH¢9.2 million .
