Sandra Esinam, a former Media General employee, has expressed her unhappiness with Onua TV's Onua Maakye anchor, Captain Smart, and the network as a whole.

Sandra expressed concern on her Facebook page about the reduction in content quality at Media General, a media company she once held in high regard. She remarked that the corporation, previously famed for its high journalistic standards, now promotes content that lacks intellectual depth. She chastised several presenters for spreading hate speech and false accusations, and urged the network to prioritize national interests over sensationalism. Her remarks were prompted by a video of Captain Smart explaining the Ashanti Gold affair.

Sandra also criticized the network's leadership, claiming that the group CEO appears to be more concerned with earning accolades than with upholding journalistic standards. She was disheartened that such a reputable institution appeared to prioritize recognition over responsible programming.

She also linked the downturn to a larger issue in the country, where mediocrity is frequently favored over actual merit. Sandra asked Media General to return to its roots and promote responsible, informative journalism, saying that its current trajectory is detrimental to both the media sector and the nation.
