Ghana's Parliament is set to reconvene in early November, thanks to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Caucus's petition to Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin. This comes after the Speaker's declaration of four parliamentary seats vacant sparked a legal battle, leading to the indefinite suspension of Parliamentary proceedings .

The affected members include Andrew Asiamah Amoako, Madam Cynthia, Kwadjo Asante, and Peter Yaw Kwakye-Ackah. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) side claimed they had become the Majority caucus due to the vacant seats, while the Supreme Court directed the Speaker to stay his ruling .

Speaker Bagbin informed the Council of State that he would recall Parliament earlier than anticipated, despite attending the 67th Conference of the CPA International in Australia. The Council applauded his efforts in maintaining Ghana's democratic credentials and encouraged him to continue his good work.

Some experts argue that the Speaker's decision cannot be challenged in court, as Parliament operates under its own standing orders and regulations . However, the Supreme Court has fixed November 11 for judgment on the substantive application filed by Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin.
