: Oheneba Boamah Bennie, a Ghanaian media personality and National Democratic Congress supporter, has publicly cautioned Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo ahead of the swearing-in ceremony for former President John Mahama on January 7, 2025. Bennie expressed concerns about Justice Torkornoo's past interactions with Mahama, claiming she often appears unfriendly or stern during their encounters .
Bennie urged Justice Torkornoo to maintain a more pleasant and welcoming demeanor during the upcoming event, warning that any failure to do so might spark dissatisfaction among the public. He also suggested that if Justice Torkornoo no longer felt committed to her role, she should consider resigning.
Justice Gertrude Torkornoo is the current Chief Justice of Ghana, nominated by President Nana Akufo-Addo in April 2023 to replace Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, who retired as Chief Justice on May 24, 2023 .
