In a special Independence Day initiative, Ghana’s three major telecom providers MTN Ghana, Telecel Ghana, and AT Ghana have introduced a discounted data bundle package under the directive of former President H.E. John Dramani Mahama.
Announced via a social media post by MP Sam Dzata George, the GHS10 bundle now offers 6GB of data, a significant increase from the standard 1GB or holiday 3GB offerings.
Sam George emphasized the government’s commitment to advancing digital inclusion, stating the move underscores efforts to “build enablers for a truly digitalized Ghana” and expand access to global opportunities for citizens. The promotion aligns with broader plans to reduce data costs sustainably.
The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations is set to outline short, medium, and long-term strategies to further lower data prices, with details expected soon.
This initiative marks a step toward bridging the digital divide and enhancing affordability in line with Ghana’s digital transformation goals.
