Residents of Akweteyman, a suburb of Achimota have once again, raised alarm for the arrest of two individuals suspected to have followed a young man into a lodging facility within the vicinity for theft.
Members of the community who have been acting as vigilante groups have observed for some period that, a group of young ladies have been carrying out dubious sexual acts posing as stranded women who needed help.
They lure victims into Guest Houses and other lodging facilities, sedate the victims and later bolt with their personal belongings.
According to an eye witness, the vigilante group have positioned themselves at vantage points to be able to intercept the activities of these ladies and other suspicious activities within the community , hence leading to the arrest of the ladies in question .
In his narration, the eye witness retorted that, after a successful operation by the ladies on Sunday, May 3, 2026, a confusion broke out during money sharing which later led to a brawl.
The noise from their brawl drew residents who were already positioned to the scene. They quickly had to round them and call the police to make arrest after the scene had drawn a larger crowd.
Speaking to the media, the leader of the vigilante group, Nii Sowah, retorted that, they have become observant since a similar incident that happened at Royal Triangle Guest House at Achimota four years ago nearly took the lives of two women who were allegedly involved in some sexual activities.
He narrated that, on June 22, 2023, two adult women namely Elizabeth Opoku and one Charlotte Asare were arrested at the Royal Triangle Guest House after they were caught engaging in sexual activity. The situation ever since, has caused them to be on the look out in order to curb any future happenings, hence Sunday’s alarm.
The two ladies whose names are yet to be known are believed to be between the ages of 35-39. They are currently with the District Police Command helping with further investigations into the matter.
