Africa ICT Right (AIR), in collaboration with its donor partners, Team4Tech and F5 have successfully organized a transformative STEM teacher training program in the Volta Region. The six-day workshop which ran from Monday, August 18th to Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, was designed to strengthen ICT teachers' capacity in AI, Coding, IoT (Arduino), Robotics, Virtual Reality (VR), and 3D design & printing by equipping them with practical, hands-on digital skills to improve teaching and learning.

The program, which was facilitated by AIR's specialist trainers, lasted three days in each of two centres, Bator and Juapong. The Ghana Education Service (GES) provided tremendous involvement and support for the program, with representatives from the District Directorate of Education attending the events.

Mrs. Isabella Regina Ayimey, District Director of Education for North Tongu, spoke at the training session in Bator and praised Africa ICT Right and its partners for their forward-thinking initiative. "This training is game-changing for our teachers. By integrating technology into STEM education, we are preparing our students for a future that requires digital competency. We are deeply grateful to AIR and its sponsors for providing our instructors with tools to make learning more practical and inventive," she said.

AIR's Program Manager, Madam Awo Sika Quarshie-Awusah, emphasized the organization's objective to bridge the digital divide. "At AIR, we think that empowering teachers is the most effective method to impact students. This training is more than simply technology; it is about changing classrooms into hubs of innovation, problem-solving, and creativity. "We appreciate Team4Tech and F5 supports in making this vision a reality," she said.

Teachers who attended the training expressed appreciation for the knowledge gained. One participant stated, "For the first time, I had the opportunity to work hands-on with robotics and coding." I can't wait to take these ideas back to my classroom to inspire my students." Another educator also stated that, "This training has opened our eyes to the possibilities of using VR and Arduino for teaching complex STEM concepts in simpler and engaging ways." This program is part of AIR's broader agenda to promote inclusive and high-quality digital education throughout Ghana, ensuring that teachers and students from underserved communities are not left behind in the digital revolution. With continuous support from partners such as Team4Tech and F5, Africa ICT Right remains committed to equipping educators with cutting-edge teaching tools that promote innovation and bridge the gap between technology and education.

With initiatives like this, AIR remains at the forefront of education innovation in Africa, ensuring that both educators and students are equipped for the digital future.
