The 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration took place amidst pomp and pageantry at Kwaeseke, with the District Chief Executive for Kwahu Afram Plains North, Hon. Kate Mawusi Babanawo, delivering a stirring address. The event, themed “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, and Secure the Future,” brought together farmers, stakeholders, and dignitaries to recognize the invaluable contributions of Ghana's agricultural heroes.

In her remarks, Hon. Babanawo saluted the hardworking farmers of Kwahu Afram Plains North, particularly this year's award winners, for their tireless efforts in driving the nation's prosperity. She emphasized that the impact of their labor is deeply felt across the district and the country, making them the backbone of Ghana's agricultural sector.

The DCE highlighted the government's bold agricultural interventions, noting that Kwahu Afram Plains North is a key beneficiary of these initiatives. She pointed out a historic milestone: for the first time, both the DCE and the District Best Farmer are women, underscoring the growing role of women in agriculture and leadership.

Hon. Babanawo announced several projects aimed at boosting productivity and improving livelihoods, including the establishment of a Farm Service Centre to provide modern machinery to farmers, the creation of a cattle market, and the imminent distribution of nkoko nkitinkitin in collaboration with MoFA. She extended an open invitation to NGOs, development partners, and Ghanaians in the diaspora to invest in the district's agricultural sector, unlocking its vast potential.

The celebration recognized outstanding farmers, with the District Best Farmer receiving accolades for their dedication and innovation. Hon. Babanawo's address emphasized the district's commitment to agricultural development and its vision for a prosperous future.

The event showcased the district's agricultural prowess and reinforced the importance of supporting farmers, who are crucial to Ghana's food security and economic growth.
