The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Hohoe, Mr. Prosper Kumi, has revealed that the Hohoe Municipal Assembly has spent GHS27,000 on the maintenance of DRIP machines used for road works in the municipality.

Speaking at a Meet-the-Press session held in Hohoe, Mr. Kumi explained that the machines, which are critical for drainage and road construction projects, required urgent servicing to keep them functional. He stressed that road infrastructure is one of the Assembly’s top priorities, and ensuring that key equipment is operational is vital to improving accessibility and mobility in the area.

The MCE further assured residents that the Assembly is committed to working closely with the Department of Urban Roads and other agencies to fix deteriorating road networks across the municipality. He acknowledged the concerns of communities over the state of some feeder roads but emphasized that steps are being taken to address them gradually.

Participants at the event welcomed the update but also urged the Assembly to ensure value for money in the use of public resources. Some residents called for more transparency in the allocation of funds and suggested that regular maintenance schedules be instituted to reduce costs in the long term.

Mr. Kumi concluded by reaffirming the Assembly’s dedication to accountability, stressing that every cedi spent is aimed at delivering better infrastructure and services to the people of Hohoe.
