Solomon Owusu, spokesperson for the newly revived United Party (UP), has disclosed that the party would have actively contested the Kpandai parliamentary seat in 2025 had its certification process been completed.

According to him, the party had gathered significant grassroots support in the constituency and is prepared to field a competitive candidate, but administrative delays at the Electoral Commission have stalled the process.

He noted that the enthusiasm among supporters signals that the UP is poised to become a formidable force in Ghana’s evolving political landscape.

Mr. Owusu applauded the recent court ruling that nullified the December 2024 parliamentary election in Kpandai, describing the decision as a victory for justice and electoral transparency. He commended the presiding judge for demonstrating independence and upholding the integrity of the electoral process after evidence of irregularities emerged during the hearing.

The ruling, which orders a re-run of the election, has been widely discussed across the constituency and the country, with many residents expressing satisfaction that their concerns were validated.
