Senior member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Dr. Palgrave Boakye Danquah, has strongly criticized the government and the Ghana Air Force following the tragic August 6th plane crash that claimed the lives of eight individuals including the Defence Minister, Minister of Environment and others.

Speaking in a heated interview on GTV, Dr. Boakye Danquah expressed deep anger and disappointment over what he described as “criminal negligence” on the part of authorities for allowing an aircraft with “limited safety equity” to operate. He asserted that the disaster could have been avoided if due diligence and strict maintenance protocols had been observed.

Dr. Boakye Danquah emphasized that the families of the deceased must not allow the matter to fade away in the usual Ghanaian fashion, where tragedies are quickly forgotten.

He insisted that the victims’ relatives should take legal action against both the government and the Ghana Air Force for their role in the negligence that led to the loss of lives. “They should sue them till they run out of money,” he said passionately, adding that accountability must be demanded to prevent future occurrences.

He argued that safety lapses in government-operated aircraft reflect a deeper institutional problem that must be addressed urgently.
