Madam Ellen Ama Daako, Special Aide to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has praised the late Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings for her profound influence on women’s fashion in Ghana.
Speaking during GTV’s live commentary at her state burial, Madam Daako noted that Nana Konadu was not only a political icon but also a cultural trendsetter whose elegance and confidence shaped how many Ghanaian women present themselves today.
According to her, the former First Lady’s signature style marked by bold prints, refined traditional wear, and graceful poise became a blueprint for modern Ghanaian femininity.
She emphasized that Nana Konadu’s fashion sense was never superficial, rather, it was deeply tied to her advocacy for women’s empowerment and self-expression. She highlighted that the late First Lady used fashion as a subtle but powerful tool to communicate strength, independence, and pride in Ghanaian identity.
Through her work with the 31st December Women’s Movement, she inspired many women to embrace both leadership and elegance. This unique blend of activism and aesthetics left a legacy that continues to resonate among women across generations.

She reiterated that Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ impact on Ghanaian fashion extended far beyond clothing. Her passing, she said, marks not only the loss of a national figure but also a style icon whose influence remains woven into the fabric of Ghana’s cultural evolution.
