Dr. Inusah Ramzy, Director of Political Relations for the United Party (UP), has launched a strong critique against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the party’s announcement of its amended constitution.

According to him, the new document offers little hope for genuine transformation if the current national executives, whom he describes as the architects of the party’s leadership crisis remain in office. He argued that the NPP’s problems go far beyond constitutional reforms and are deeply rooted in what he believes is ineffective leadership at the top.

Speaking on GTV Breakfast show, Dr. Ramzy stressed that a constitution is only as effective as the people entrusted with its implementation. He insisted that the NPP must “clean its house” by removing all current national executives if the party wants to regain credibility and reconnect with the grassroots. He suggested that the executives have over the years presided over internal divisions, weakened democratic processes, and fostered a culture of mistrust that has cost the party both moral standing and political capital.

He maintained that the amended constitution could be a step in the right direction, but only if accompanied by authentic leadership renewal. Without such change, he warned, the NPP risks repeating the same mistakes and further alienating a growing section of Ghanaians who expect better reforms.
