In a grand traditional ceremony held on 31st October 2025 at the Chieftaincy Resource Center in Kpando, Mama Ablorblor VIII was officially inducted as the Subdivisional Chief of Kpando-Aloyi.
The historic event was graced by the Paramount Chief of the Akpini Traditional Area, Torgbuiga Dagadu IX, alongside other distinguished chiefs, queen mothers, and dignitaries from across the Volta Region. The ceremony showcased rich cultural performances, traditional drumming, and dancing as the people of Kpando-Aloyi came together to celebrate their newly inducted leader.
In her address to the media, Mama Ablorblor VIII expressed profound gratitude to Torgbuiga Dagadu IX, the traditional council, and the people of Kpando-Aloyi for the honor bestowed upon her. She pledged to uphold the customs and traditions of her forebears while prioritizing peace, education, women’s empowerment, and youth development. Mama Ablorblor VIII also called on her subjects to remain united and support initiatives aimed at transforming Kpando-Aloyi into a model community within the Akpini Traditional Area.

The Paramount Chief, Torgbuiga Dagadu IX, in his remarks, congratulated Mama Ablorblor VIII and other chiefs inducted and encouraged them to lead with humility, integrity, and vision. He urged the people of Kpando-Aloyi to rally behind their new leader to ensure sustainable development and cultural preservation. He also asked them to bring to the floor their expertise to shape the town irrespective of their career background.
The induction of Mama Ablorblor VIII marked a significant milestone in the chieftaincy history of Kpando-Aloyi, symbolizing continuity, progress, and the enduring strength of the Akpini heritage.
