Spokesperson for the United Party, Solomon Owusu, has advised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate to exercise restraint in the upcoming by-election, stating that excessive campaign spending would be unnecessary.
According to him, elections are part of the democratic process, and losing one does not mark the end of a political career or personal success. He stressed that there is life after losing an election and cautioned against pouring huge financial resources into a contest he believes will not change the outcome.
Speaking on the political dynamics of the constituency and recent happenings during by-elections, Mr. Owusu expressed confidence in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), insisting that the party is poised to win the election.
In his view, voters are more concerned about leadership credibility and track record than financial inducements.
He emphasized that responsible politics requires prudent use of resources and respect for the intelligence of voters.
According to him, saving campaign funds for future opportunities would be wiser, as political fortunes can change, but reckless spending in a losing battle could have lasting consequences.
