Member of Parliament for Pru East, Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, has revealed that many Ghanaians were impressed by how Mahama Ayariga conducted himself during the vetting of the Chief Justice nominee.
Speaking on GTV’s “Breakfast Show,” the legislator stated that Ayariga’s composure, intelligence, and firm questioning of Hon. Afenyo-Markin during the session demonstrated a high level of parliamentary decorum and intellectual maturity.
According to him, Ayariga’s performance resonated with many citizens who felt he matched the Minority leader boot for boot.
Hon. Boam noted that the exchange between Mahama Ayariga and Afenyo-Markin was one of the most captivating moments of the vetting process. He emphasized that while political differences are normal in a democracy, the dignity and sharp reasoning Ayariga displayed won him admiration across party lines. “You could tell from the reactions on social media and public discussions that Ghanaians appreciated how he stayed focused on the issues rather than engaging in political theatrics,” Boam said, adding that such conduct strengthens public trust in parliamentary oversight.

He stressed that the vetting of a Chief Justice is a matter of national importance and should always reflect the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
