Central Tongu Town Hall Meeting Highlights Commitment to Sustainable Development

Adidome, Volta Region - The Member of Parliament for South Tongu, Hon. Gabby Hottordze, has reiterated the importance of monitoring and evaluation in driving sustainable development within the local government context. Speaking at the Central Tongu Town Hall meeting held on Wednesday, 5th October at the Old District Assembly Hall, Adidome, Hon. Hottordze emphasized that effective monitoring and evaluation are crucial in ensuring that development projects are implemented efficiently and effectively.

The meeting, which brought together stakeholders from across the constituency, provided an opportunity for Hon. Hottordze to update constituents on his efforts to improve infrastructure, education, and healthcare in the area. Seizing the occasion, the MP seized the opportunity to donate two motorbikes and two laptops, valued at sixty thousand Ghana Cedis, to the District Directorate of the Ghana Health Service, in a gesture aimed at bolstering healthcare delivery in the district. This donation is expected to enhance the mobility and operational capacity of the health service in the district.

Hon. Hottordze highlighted several initiatives undertaken by his office to improve infrastructure and support education in South Tongu. These include the refurbishment of the 3-bedroom house of the District Coordinating Director and the provision of 200 desks to support educational infrastructure, with 100 desks each donated to Mafi Secondary School (MAFSEC) and Adidome Secondary School (ADISEC). Additionally, his office has constructed mechanized boreholes capable of supplying water to 800 students, distributed mathematical sets, and implemented street lighting projects across every town in the Volta Region.

Hon. Hottordze also announced that his office has secured 10 scholarships worth 10,000 Ghana Cedis each through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) to support students pursuing medical studies.

In his address, Hon. Hottordze reaffirmed his commitment to driving sustainable development in South Tongu. He urged constituents to support his efforts and work together to build a better future for the constituency. The meeting was hailed as a success, with attendees commending Hon. Hottordze for his dedication to improving the lives of the people of South Tongu.
