Communications Specialist and Legal Practitioner, Zakaria Tanko Musah, has strongly criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its leadership, stating that it is high time they acknowledged the growing dissatisfaction among Ghanaians.
Speaking on GTV Breakfast Show in response to the minority’s demand to halt the vetting of the newly nominated Chief Justice, Justice Baffoe, Mr. Tanko Musah said the NPP, led by Alexander Afenyo-Markin in Parliament, must understand that public trust in their party continues to decline due to perceived arrogance and disregard for accountability which led to the NPP
losing the 2024 elections.
According to him, the minority’s posture towards national issues reflects a leadership that is disconnected from the concerns of ordinary citizens. Mr. Tanko Musah argued that the NPP’s refusal to heed calls for broader consultation and transparency in major state appointments deepens public resentment. He emphasized that matters as important as the appointment of a Chief Justice should not be treated as political victories but as opportunities to build confidence in Ghana’s democratic institutions.
