Accra, June 23, 2025 — Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Hon. Dr. Stephen Amoah, has confidently declared that Kennedy Agyapong will be the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.

Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa TV, Dr. Amoah said it is already a “done deal” and believes that Kennedy Agyapong has been chosen by God to lead the party.

“God has already chosen Kennedy Agyapong as the NPP’s next flagbearer,” he stated, describing Agyapong as the “Joshua” who will lead the party into victory in the next election after 2024.

Although the NPP has not officially opened nominations for the 2028 race, Dr. Amoah’s comments suggest strong support for Agyapong’s future presidential bid.

Kennedy Agyapong, former MP for Assin Central, contested the NPP’s 2023 flagbearer race but lost to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He remains a popular figure within the party and among grassroots supporters.
